 1. Resemblance:
Alex and Anna- Since both characters
were/are played by Finola Hughes they look identical, except for different
hairstyles.
2. Age:
Alex-
Has there
been any kind of hints to Alex's age at all?
Anna-
Anna married
Robert Scorpio about 1977-1978 in Italy. She was suppose to be fairly
young at the time, like very early twenties. [*Two people have emailed
me to say that Anna was suppose to be about 19 when she married Robert,
not early twenties.]
3. Medical
Training/background:
Alex-
Has a year
been given for when Alex went to medical school with David? Surely it's
been at least 10-15 years ago considering how well-established Alex was
supposed to be in field (ie. the large picture and bio of her in the
medical book she was trying to hide from Edmund when she first showed up
in Pine Valley). Alex can read and throw around medical jargon, which
Anna was never shown to do.
Anna-
During the
Asian Quarter storyline, Anna worked the hospital van with Buzz Stryker.
Though she did this only to look for her missing child, Anna was CPR
qualified in order to do so. She also lightly nursed a wounded Robert in
1991. Her medical skills are only basic ones, generally CPR and like
stopping wounds. 4. Family:
Alex-
Alex's mother
was present at her wedding to Dimitri. Alex's father, an artist, had a
mental problem and died while Alex was away at college. [update- I'm not
sure now if that was Charlotte at the wedding since there is another
actress playing the part now.]
Anna-
Anna's
parents died when she was a young girl. Her only sibling, a younger
sister named
Lindsey, died from Lukemia. 5. The Sean
Connection:
Alex-
Sean, who knew both Dimitri
and Alex, arranged for their blind date. He also attended their wedding,
and is suppose to be English.
Anna- Sean Donely was the best
friend of Robert and Anna, was their former boss, and godfather to their
only child. He was Irish. 6. Children:
Alex-
There's been
nothing to suggest that Alex has ever had a child, so actually this Alex
versus Anna thing could be settled if Alex had a physical examination to
see if she had a child. Obviously that's not gonna happen. Alex did tell
Dimitri while they were snuggling in bed that she wanted to have a
child with him.
Anna-
Anna had one
child, Robin, from her marriage to Robert, and Robin was born in either
1979 or 1980. She miscarried her and Duke's baby in 1988 after falling
down in a rigged elevator that was arranged to kill her husband. Despite
her miscarriage, Anna was still able to conceive a child afterwards.
7. Time
Frame:
Alex-
Alex has several years(10?)
missing in her work bio during which time she supposedly was in a mental
asylum. Have any dates been given? Also, David knew her from medical
school for quite some time and that took place in London. After medical
school, she went on to residency and helped write a book on neurological
issues. She then took a break from practicing medicine before Dimitri
convinced her to take his case. Alex has memories of her childhood, it's
the 10 or so years after medical school that she can't remember
entirely.
Anna- From 1985-January 1992, Anna
lived in Port Charles, NY. From 1980 (or 1981)-1985, Anna lived in New
York City. In 1979 or 1980, she lived in Italy when awaiting the birth
of her Robin. In 1992, Anna was supposedly killed
along with Robert and Faison in a boat explosion. But then
again, Faison popped up alive again in 1999 (only to be
"killed" again in 2000). 8. Marital
Arts:
Alex-
Alex apparently knows some
martial arts, evident when she took down the gunman in the mall. She
also knows how to shoot a gun.
Anna- Anna was an accompolished
martial arts expert, even teaching it in the early days of the Asian
Quarter storyline. Besides fencing Anna's particular specialties were
diffusing bombs and fencing stolen goods.
9. Horses:
Alex-
Alex is an
accompolished rider, a love which she shared with her hubby Dimitri. She
did however name the new horse Scorpio.
Anna-
Anna rode a
horse in the Mt. Rushmore storyline. In 1992, Nanny told Robin a story
about Anna on a runaway horse when Anna was a young girl. 10. Fancy
Dancing:
Alex-
Edmund was
charmed by how graceful Alex ballroom danced.
Anna-
Anna steamed
up the dance floor with her sexy tangos with Duke.
11. Languages:
Alex-
According to
3/13's episode, Alex can understand Russian.
Anna-
Anna spoke
some French and Italian, but was never revealed to speak Russian. Faison
once reminded her about a mission they once went on, and I'd swear it
was in Russia. 12. Waltzing
Matilda:
Alex-
On the 3/14
episode, Guy makes remarks about Australia and confuses Alex when he
hums Waltzing Matilda.
Anna-
Robert and
Sean both used to hum this. In fact, Robert's ex-fiancee, Katherine
Delafield, and Frisco sang Waltzing Matilda at Robert's
"funeral" back in the 80's (1988?) 13. Obsessive enemys:
Alex-
Erica hates Alex because
she's Dimitri's wife and widow.
Anna-
Olivia hated
Anna because she wanted her hubby, Duke. 14. Brainwashing:
Alex-
Adrian and
Edmund think Alex's been brainwashed to forget her past, with the
trigger phrase being "I just want to get on with my life".
Anna-
Faison
hypnotized both Anna using the trigger phrase "Do you hear the
waters whispering?" to get her to spy on Robert and Sean's
activities. He also hypnotized Robert to think that Anna had been
unfaithful to him with Cesar. 15. "I Love You,
Robin":
Alex-
On 4/5's
episode, Alex tells her former patient, Karen, "I love you too,
Robin." So of course she now thinks she once had a child named
Robin. Questions to ask are where was Robin born, when was she born, and
where is she now?
Anna-
Robin was
born in Italy and raised in New York City until the age of 6 when she
turned up on Robert Scorpio's doorstep. She didn't know Anna was her
biological mother, but thought she was a family friend who Robin called
"Luv". So Robin was 6 years old the first time she called Anna
"Mommy", and Anna would have been around 20 years old when
Robin was born. 16. Upraising:
Alex-
Alex told
Dimitri that she spent her childhood often with her ill father while her
mother was working. Her childhood took place in England.
Anna-
According to
the biography Cesar's mistress was reading in 1991, Anna was British by
birth, but she was raised in Canada.
