- Wednesday, December 5, 2001-
Brooke alerts Edmund to Laura's disappearance,
and Brooke apologizes to Edmund for not trusting him when he comes to her aid.
Laura appears and announces that she has moved to a loft space in Greenlee's
building, and Brooke insists that Laura move and seek psychiatric care. As a
result, Laura lashes out at Edmund. Anna spies David giving cash to Roger. Anna
confronts David about having lingering feelings for Dixie, and David steals away
with Dixie's blood samples.
- Wednesday, December 12, 2001-
Anna comforts David on the
anniversary of his father's suicide. David opens up and shares the horrific
details, but David grows more suspicious of Anna when he overhears Chris
instructing her to gain David's trust and uncover his tracks. Anna suggests to
Chris that they have gone down the wrong road, but Chris ignores Anna, and Anna
grows suspicious of Chris. Jackson also questions Chris' legitimacy, and he
probes Chris about his apparently endless job resume.
- Thursday, December 13, 2001-
Anna assures David that she
wouldn't take advantage of his genuine grief, and Anna confides that she
suspects Chris has masterminded Proteus' organization. Later, Roger stumbles
into David's room and collapses at his feet. Anna approaches Ryan with
information regarding his father, and Anna urges Ryan to enlist help from the
FBI after sharing doubts with Ryan about Chris' account of Ryan's father's
death.
- Friday, December 14, 2001-
Vanessa and Palmer catch David with seemingly
unwell Roger. Roger horrifies Vanessa when he makes references to Vanessa's past
in front of increasingly suspicious Palmer, and Vanessa notes David's unease.
Vanessa privately questions David's explanation for Roger's odd behavior, and
she questions David's motives when she learns that David lied about Roger
drinking too much at the hotel bar. Once alone, Roger implores David to help
him, and horrified Anna watches undetected as irritated David injects Roger
after ordering him to follow David's instructions in the future. Anna presses
Ryan to investigate his father's death, and Anna evades Ryan's suspicion by
claiming guilt over Gillian's death.
- Monday, December 17, 2001-
Roger thanks David for his injection, and
Anna follows Roger to Mateo's club. Mateo gives Roger a disc to forward to
Proteus, and Mateo continues to play the role of Simone's lover to squelch any
suspicions. Mateo also lies to Stuart in order to keep in character, and Stuart
assures Mateo that his troubled marriage will prevail. In the meantime, Anna
returns to David's side, despite the evidence stacking up against him.
- Monday, December 19, 2001-
Anna suspects that David wants to return to Dixie, but
David pulls Anna into a kiss.
- Thursday, December 20, 2001-
David catches Anna making a fake call, and
suspicious Anna pleads with David to trust her with his entire life. Brooke
interrupts Edmund's attempt to disuade Anna from persuing David, who dumps her
cold to take an ailing Dixie to the hospital.
- Thursday, December 21, 2001-
Anna
admits to Chris that she suspects he is Proteus, and Anna gets past her
suspicions about David and makes up with him. At the same time, the undisclosed
troublemaker strikes again by stealing the book of sonnets that Frankie left for
Bianca, burning a particular page and placing it in David's circular file at
work. Dixie swerves off the road when her breaks
fail to work, and Edmund believes foul play caused the accident. David appears,
and Edmund accuses David, but David suggests that Leslie perpetrated the crime.
- Wednesday, December 26, 2001-
Brooke
finds Edmund studying a picture of Maria as he prepares for the Crystal Ball,
creating an uncomfortable moment. Mateo appears to anger Edmund when he arrives
at the ball with Simone, but when the two men step outside, they drop the act
and speculate that David may be Proteus. Meanwhile, Anna takes note of Roger's
eagerness to do David's bidding, and David warns Anna that she is playing a
dangerous game when she probes him about Roger. Anna vows to uncover David's
hidden agenda, and David promises to consider her an enemy if she continues to
take that road.
- Thursday, December 27, 2001-
Anna continues taunting David, but David invites
Anna to the Crystal Ball all the same. Mateo frightens Edmund when he reveals
that he intends to use himself as bait to catch Proteus, but Mateo refuses to
back down and live in fear for the rest of his life. Finally, Brooke smoothes
the waters with Edmund when she comes to his side and assures him that Maria's
memory will never die.
- Friday, December 28, 2001-
Chris gives Anna truth serum to give to David in
order to prove his innocence, while David knocks Roger unconscious when he comes
close to spilling the beans about David's work to Greenlee.
- Monday, December 31, 2001-
David creates a scene when he punches Roger at
the Crystal Ball. During the struggle, Anna, Edmund, Chris and Brooke stand
alerted after Roger blurts that David only cares about his drugs. Anna shows
David the vial of truth serum given to her by Chris, hoping to prove to David
that he can trust her. However, David remains shut down, and once alone he
injects himself with an unknown drug.
