- Tuesday, August 1, 2000-
Adrian was taken aback when Gillian came to the loft with questions about Jake.
Ryan arrived just as Adrian was sharing with Gillian his concern that no one he
talked to in Chechnya recalled Jake. Adrian told Gillian and Ryan to hold off on
exposing their relationship when Jake returns. Later, Greenlee became angry when
she showed up at the loft and Ryan told her she could not use his office as a
place to go when she was bored.
- Wednesday, August 2, 2000-
Leo prevented Greenlee from telling Ryan the truth about where the financing for
Incredible Dreams came from, and apologized for accusing her of creating the
VirginVictor website. Later, Ryan acknowledged to a surprised Greenlee that she
had been there every step of the way as he built his company and thanked her for
her help.llian insisted on taking the coat to be cleaned
by the maid and removed the letter and gave it to Marian.
- Thursday, August 3, 2000-
Seeing that David's treatment of "patient X" seems to be working, Alex
breaks down in the hallway mourning the fact that David's treatment might have
saved Dimitri. A torn Dimitri watches her unseen.
- Wednesday, August 9, 2000-
At the hospital, Edmund told Dixie that he planned to propose to Alex, and was
disappointed by her lack of enthusiasm for his news. When he pressed her about
her reservations, Dixie covered by saying she was just concerned that he and
Alex were moving too quickly. Later, David arrived and Dixie pleaded with him to
tell Edmund the truth about Dimitri, but he refused. Dixie left to find Edmund,
ignoring David's order not to go to Wildwind.
- Thursday, August 10, 2000-
At Wildwind, Dixie was overcome and passed out in front of Edmund and Alex. Alex
rushed to Dixie's aid, afraid her heart problem had recurred. David arrived and
quickly revived Dixie, then hurried her out before she could tell Alex and
Edmund that Dimitri is alive. Back at Dixie's house, David implored her to take
better care of herself after she confessed that she had not been eating
properly. Later, David watched over a sleeping Dixie and tenderly kissed her
wrist. Edmund told an approving Mateo of his plan to propose to Alex, and enlisted his help to make the setting perfect.
- Friday, August 11, 2000-
Dixie told David she was not going to tell Edmund and Alex about Dimitri.
Gillian told Ryan the news about Jake. A determined Ryan decided to go to
Chechnya and bring Jake back personally, which upset Gillian.
- Monday, August 14, 2000-
Tad found Gillian in the park as she was trying to persuade Ryan not to go to
Chechnya. Ryan covered by saying he had happened to run into Gillian at the park
and noticed how upset she was. Tad then got a call from Jake on his cell phone.
Tad begged Jake to come home and handed the phone to Gillian, but the connection
was lost before she could speak to him. Tad informed Ryan and Gillian that Jake
was helping some orphaned children and would not come home until he had gotten
them safely out of Chechnya. He also told Gillian that Jake said he loved her.
Ryan was torn after Gillian demanded that he stay in Pine Valley. Later, Adrian
decided to go in search of Jake, and Ryan told him he was going too.
- Tuesday, August 15, 2000-
Vanessa chides Edmund to task for overlooking her hubby in his article on
America's greatest entrepreneurs. Adrian gloomily informs Ryan that he's lost
governmental support for his rescue mission to Chechnya. Later, Ryan hits upon a
way to finance a trip to Chechnya for himself and Adrian. Finding Gillian
penning a note to Jake, Tad asks if she intends to break his brother's heart.
Gillian tells Tad she loves Jake and is as worried about him as the rest of the
Martin family.
- Wednesday, August 16, 2000-
With the help of Hayley, Mateo and his children, Edmund proposes to Alex with
the setting of "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
- Thursday, August 17, 2000-
Upset by Alex’s engagement, Dimitri headed to the church. Dimitri opened up to
Eliot, who realized both men were in similar situations. Meanwhile, Dixie,
believing Dimitri had told Alex and Edmund the truth, arrived at Wildwind and
was surprised to discover he had not. Eliot and Dimitri talked and helped each
other work through their problems. Dimitri later informed Dixie that he could
not ruin Edmund and Alex's happiness. He revealed that once his treatment was
finished he planned to leave Pine Valley forever.
- Monday, August 21, 2000-
Alex told Gillian and Joe about her engagement to Edmund, then asked an
emotional Gillian if she and Jake would be in the wedding party. Later, at WRCW,
Alex staged a surprise for Edmund by having Hayley, Becca and Tiffany dress up
as nurses and lip synch the song "Doctor's Orders". Gillian and Dixie
discussed Alex's engagement to Edmund. Dixie's cell phone rang and it was
Dimitri calling from the airport. Dixie took it for granted that Dimitri was
leaving the country forever when he told her about his trip to Switzerland. At
the airport, Dixie found Dimitri and he assured her he would only be gone for a
few days. Later, after the surprise, Alex took Edmund to the airport for his
business trip and was shocked when she saw Dimitri board his flight. Adrian was
stunned when Ryan told him he had three million dollars for their traveling
expenses. Midori gave Greenlee twenty-four hours to convince Ryan to give back
the money or he would have Ryan arrested. Greenlee asked her grandfather for the
cash, but he turned her down when he learned it was for Ryan. Later, Greenlee
was floored when Ryan told her he had to take a trip out of the country and
asked her to watch over his company. At the church, Gillian overheard Tina pray
for Adrian and Jake's safe return from Chechnya. Gillian was shocked when she
realized that Ryan was going to accompany Adrian.
- Tuesday, August 22, 2000-
Gillian begged Ryan not to go to Chechnya, but he said he had to bring Jake home
so they could finally be open about their relationship. Though Ryan swore he
would come back to her, Gillian had a premonition that she and Ryan would never
be together if he went to Chechnya. Ryan comforted her and they made passionate
love. A stunned Alex told Edmund she saw Dimitri board a flight to Zurich. Alex
and Edmund unsuccessfully tried to prevent the plane from taking off, so Edmund
bribed the ticket agent, who reviewed the passenger list but did not find
Dimitri's name. Alex then decided that the man she saw boarding the plane could
not have been Dimitri because he is dead, but Edmund was not convinced. Later,
Edmund postponed his trip and called Dixie, demanding to talk to David about
Dimitri.

29, 2000-
Alex realizes she's not imagining Dimitri and the two reunite and make
love.
- Wednesday, August 30, 2000-
Alex and Dimitri begin to talk about Edmund, who surprises them by returning
early.
- Thursday, August
31, 2000-
Edmund's furious when he realizes Dimitri faked his death and then returned to
Wildwind and made love with Alex.
- Monday, September 4, 2000-
Ryan and Gillian arrived at a field hospital in Chechnya. Ryan tried
unsuccessfully to find a way to get Gillian home, and they both realized they
were staying until Jake was found. A doctor arrived at the hospital and Gillian
was stunned to see it was Jake. Gillian embraced Jake, who was surprised to see
Ryan there as well. Jake was grateful when he heard Ryan and Adrian's plan to
evacuate the orphans he had been protecting. Later, Gillian was moved by the
sight of Jake singing a lullaby to an orphan girl.
- Tuesday, September 5, 2000-
Adrian arrived at the field hospital and informed Ryan and Jake that there were
reports of sniper fire along their escape route. Adrian decided to evacuate the
children immediately and told Jake, Gillian and Ryan he would send another
chopper for them. After Adrian departed, Ryan watched as Jake expressed to
Gillian how thankful he was she had come to Chechnya to be with him. As the trio
prepared to leave, the hospital was ambushed by a sniper. Jake was shot as he
dove in front of Ryan and Gillian to protect them. Ryan then shot and killed the
sniper. Gillian begged Jake not to die.
- Wednesday, September 6, 2000-
On a plane out of Chechnya, Ryan and Gillian tended to an unconscious Jake,
whose gunshot wound was bleeding profusely. Jake awoke and said that his legs
were numb. Ryan got Jake to talk him through treating Jake's wound. Ryan managed
to stop the bleeding and Jake thanked him and Gillian for saving his life.
Gillian told a relieved Jake that Adrian got the children safely out of Chechnya
and called him a hero. Later, Ryan watched a close moment between Gillian and
Jake as she comforted him with stories about his family.
- Tuesday, September 12, 2000-
Ryan and Gillian waited for Jake to come out of surgery at an Army hospital in
Germany. Gillian was relieved to learn from Eugenia that Dimitri was alive. Ryan
and Gillian decided to wait until they were back in Pine Valley to tell Jake the
truth. Gillian worried that something would intervene to keep her and Ryan
apart, but Ryan assured her that he would not let anything come between them
again. Joe informed Gillian and Ryan that Jake's surgery went well but that he
could not determine his long-term prognosis. Privately, Joe asked Gillian if he
could count on her to support Jake and she said he could. Edmund maintained his
stranglehold on Dimitri, who could not break free. Edmund came to his senses
and, stunned by what he had done, let go of Dimitri. Dimitri covered when Alex
came in and questioned why he was gasping for breath. Dimitri shared his concern
with Alex that Edmund was hiding his pain over losing her. Alex then told Edmund
that she and Dimitri would move out of Wildwind if he wanted them to. Edmund
said he wanted them to stay for the children's sake. Later, Alex and Dimitri
decided to start fresh start and made plans to renew their wedding vows once
things settled down with Edmund. Meanwhile, Edmund pried Dimitri's memorial
plaque off the mausoleum wall.
- Thursday, September 14, 2000-
Erica burst into David’s office to tell him that Stuart was alive and fainted
at the sight of Dimitri. Erica awoke and embraced Dimitri. Alex arrived and
Erica became jealous of her and Dimitri's relationship. Erica derided Alex for
her romance with Edmund, and Dimitri warned Erica to stop or risk being pushed
out of his life for good. Later, David arrived and found an enraged Erica
trashing Alex's side of the office. Erica told David that he had never measured
up to Dimitri, which prompted him to pull her into passionate kiss. David and
Erica then started to make love on Alex's desk.
- Monday, September 18, 2000-
Later, Bianca was upset when Jack escorted Erica and her into the party and
photographers started snapping their picture. Erica denied allowing them into
the party, but persuaded Bianca to let herself be photographed. Just then, Alex,
Dimitri and Edmund arrived, which took the attention off Erica and Bianca. Erica
was furious and demanded that Edmund do something, but he said that he was only
interested in showing a united family to the press. At the Army hospital,
Gillian revealed to an unhappy Ryan that she could not tell Jake about their
relationship. Ryan then asked Gillian if she was falling in love with Jake.
Gillian told Ryan that while she cared for Jake, what she felt for her husband
did not compare to her feelings for Ryan. After reaffirming her love for Ryan,
Gillian informed him that she did not want to jeopardize Jake's recovery and
pleaded with Ryan to be patient. Jake questioned Ryan's motives for helping him,
but Joe reassured his son that Gillian loves him. Later, Joe asked Ryan to
leave Gillian and Jake and return to Pine Valley. Jake was upset by something he
read in his medical chart, but he refused to share the information with Gillian.
- Tuesday, September 19, 2000-
In Germany, Ryan told Gillian that he was going to head back to Pine Valley
unless she told Jake the truth. Gillian countered that Jake was in too much pain
right now to hear about their affair. Gillian interrupted Jake and Joe talking
about Jake's condition and asked them for details. Jake gave Gillian a report,
but she sensed that he was keeping something from her. Jake thanked Ryan for
rescuing him and then hinted that Ryan should stay away from Gillian. Ryan then
told a sad Gillian that he was leaving. Later, Gillian pushed Jake about his
condition, but he reassured her that everything was going to be fine.
- Thursday, September 21, 2000-
Ryan and Adrian arrived at Ryan's loft and were stunned to see the damage
Greenlee had done. Derek came in and arrested Ryan for taking money from
Incredible Dreams. Ryan did not understand what was going on and proclaimed his
innocence. Adrian advised Ryan to get a lawyer and keep quiet around Derek. Ryan
called Jack, who told him to go with the police. Jack promised to meet Ryan at
the jail in the morning. Greenlee asked Jack about the call and he told her Ryan
had been arrested. Ryan pressed Derek for details about the crimes he had
supposedly committed. Derek said he believed that Ryan stole the money from his
company and replaced it with funds taken from illegal sources. Ryan realized he
was being set up for money laundering. Later, Greenlee visited Ryan in jail.
Ryan was shocked when Greenlee revealed she was the one who set him up.
- Friday, September 22, 2000-
At the jail, Greenlee triumphantly informs a shocked Ryan that she was
responsible for his sudden downfall. Greenlee drops another large bombshell on
Ryan as she reveals who's been backing Midori all along. Gillian tries in vain
to reach Ryan. Jake returns from physical therapy and tells Gillian he wants to
return to Pine Valley and be the husband she deserves. Gillian celebrates when
Jake regains his feet for the first time since the shooting. Jake hugs Gillian
who is torn between the two men in her life.
- Monday, September 25, 2000-
Gillian read in the newspaper that Ryan had been arrested. Adrian told Ryan he
was bailing Ryan out to attend a press conference with Jake and Gillian. A
concerned Gillian visited Ryan in jail. Ryan assured her that things wold be
fine because they were going to be together finally. Gillian's expression told
Ryan that she had not yet asked Jake for a divorce. Ryan pressed Gillian for an
answer about why she was keeping Jake in the dark and Gillian responded that
Jake needed her. Jake and Gillian were questioned by the press about their
heroics in Chechnya. The reporters asked Gillian and Jake for a picture of them
kissing. Ryan arrived just in time to see an uncomfortable Gillian kiss Jake.
- Tuesday, September 26, 2000-
Leo and Greenlee arrived at the hospital in time to watch the reporters question
Ryan and Gillian about why Ryan went to Chechnya to bring back his ex-wife's
husband. Joe ended the press conference before Ryan could give an answer. Ryan
asked Tad and Liza for money to cover what he took from Incredible Dreams and
they agreed to consider his request. After Liza left, Ryan asked Tad to talk to
the DA on his behalf. Tad told Ryan that while he was grateful to have Jake
home, he was not inclined to help Ryan because he knew Ryan and Gillian had been
having an affair. Later, Tad told Jake about Ryan's request. Tad was stunned
when Jake asked him to give Ryan the money so Jake would not feel beholden to
Ryan. Jake vowed to fight for Gillian and not lose her to Ryan. Meanwhile,
Gillian and Ryan had a rendezvous at the boathouse. Ryan expressed his
frustration that they still could not be together openly. Ryan warned Gillian
that Tad knew about their relationship and advised her to talk to Jake
immediately. After Ryan reminded Gillian that the longer she hid the truth, the
more Jake would be hurt, Gillian resolved to ask Jake for a divorce that night.
- Friday, September 29, 2000-
Ryan waited for Gillian at the turret and remembered times they had spent there
together. Greenlee surprised Ryan and announced that her grandparents were
sending her back to California because of him. After blasting Ryan once again,
Greenlee realized he was planning a romantic rendezvous with Gillian. Ryan told
Greenlee that Gillian was going to leave Jake that night, but Greenlee was
certain that Jake would never let Gillian go. Ryan pointed out to Greenlee that
he and Gillian belonged together. Greenlee realized that she and Ryan were very
similar, continuing to reach for what they wanted but could not have until they
hurt themselves or someone else. Meanwhile, Gillian flashed back to Joe telling
her that Jake may be impotent. While trying to call Ryan, Gillian knocked over
Jake's bag. Inside the bag Gillian found a unsent love letter Jake wrote to her
while in Chechnya. Jake came into the room as Gillian was reading the letter.
Gillian asked why Jake never sent the letter and he responded that he wanted to
tell her how much he loved her in person. Jake revealed that if he could do it
all over again, he would never leave her. Jake then asked Gillian if they could
have a fresh start. Gillian tried to explain to Jake that she thought they were
over when he left Pine Valley. Jake interrupted Gillian before she could tell
him about Ryan. He told her that she had been his lifeline in bringing in home
and that he wanted be the same for her. A torn Gillian broke down after Jake
headed upstairs and Joe came in to comfort her. Joe asked Gillian not to desert
Jake in his time of need.
