examine Dimitri's body in the mausoleum and were shocked by what they saw when

find true love. Later, Gillian and Eugenia were speechless when Edmund told them
that Dimitri was alive and he defended Alexandra's actions. Edmund was shocked
when Alexandra said that there was an experimental treatment that might save

Alexandra insisted to Edmund that the experimental treatment could prolong
Dimitri's life, but not improve it. Later, Edmund approached David for help with
Dimitri and told him about the experimental treatment. David then planted the
seeds for Adam's undoing by suggesting that Edmund ask Liza about using Colby's
stored stem cells for Dimitri's treatment.

Jake found Gillian reading up on Dimitri's illness. Gillian couldn't keep the
secret about Dimitri to herself and blurted out to a shocked Jake that Dimitri
was alive but very sick. Jake promised Gillian he would help out if he could.
Edmund and David told Liza the truth about Dimitri and explained the
experimental procedure that could save his life. Later, Edmund approached Jake
about using Colby's stem cells to help Dimitri.

Adam objected to using Colby's stem cells to help Dimitri, but Liza informed
Adam that the choice was hers and Jake's, not his. Alexandra was shocked that
Edmund had started pursuing stem cell research and they discussed the merits of
the experimental treatment. Adam found Edmund and Alexandra and told them he
would not allow the use of Colby's stem cells. Edmund reminded him that it was
Jake and Liza's decision. Alexandra and Edmund learned that Dimitri's condition
had taken a turn for the worse. Jake and Liza discussed allowing Colby's stem
cells to be used. Later, a desperate Edmund pleaded with Liza and Jake to make
their decision about using Colby's stem cells. Jake and Liza agreed to help

case and a passionate Alexandra said that she had no regrets and that Dimitri

Alexandra and Jake were able to convince Edmund, Gillian and Eugina to wait

As the police and Coast Guard continue their futile search for Dimitri on land
and sea, Jackson tries to coax an exhausted Edmund off the beach but he refuses
to leave until his brother is found. Meanwhile, Alexandra goes to Dimitri's
hospital room and waits for word. Alex reluctantly informs Edmund that the
authorities have switched from search and rescue mode to a recovery mission.
Edmund tells Alex they cannot give up hope and tells her everything that has
happened is all her fault. Alexandra escapes to the beach. Edmund follows her
and Alexandra accuses Edmund of causing Dimitri's death.

At the beach Alexandra blamed Edmund for Dimitri's death and vowed to never
forgive him. Later, an enraged Alexandra decided to ride Dimitri's horse against Edmund's
wishes. Stuart and Marian shared a picnic and Marian surprised Stuart when she
suggested he paint her nude portrait. Later, Stuart and Marian were concerned when they saw Alexandra get thrown off
Maximillian. Alexandra was grief-stricken when Edmund told her that the horse would have to

Eugenia learned of Dimitri's death from Gillian. Gillian was surprised when Eugenia admitted that Dimitri's actions had been a
mistake. Edmund had to put Maximillian down and Stuart told him that the
accident hadn't been Alexandra's fault. Edmund and Alexandra argued and Edmund
said that Alexandra's love had killed Dimitri.

Erica was shocked when she arrived at Wildwind to take Maximillian to
Bianca and learned that the horse had been put down. Erica became furious with
Alexandra when she discovered the truth about Dimitri's death. Gillian shouted
for the arguing to stop and then later collapsed in Alexandra's arms. Edmund and
Alexandra agreed to make peace for the sake of the family. Later, Myrtle
questioned Erica about her real reasons for keeping her affair with David a
secret.

Jake and Gillian arrived at the party. Gillian tried to enjoy herself but
couldn't stop thinking about Dimitri. Edmund talked to Brooke about Dimitri and
how terrible it was to lose him twice. Later, Jack and Brooke decided to be each
other's date and tried to have a good time. Edmund arrived at the beach and was
moved when he overheard Alexandra's tender words for Dimitri. Scene

Erica became livid when she realized that David
knew the truth about Dimitri and hadn't told her. Erica blasted David, who
harshly pointed out that even she wouldn't have been able to help Dimitri. An
angry Erica then told David that she never wanted to see him again. An emotional
Alexandra and Edmund had a private memorial service for Dimitri on the beach.
Later, Alexandra told Edmund that she was returning to London for the reading of
Dimitri's will and said she wouldn't be returning to Pine Valley.

Edmund and Alexandra were shocked to learn that the codicil to Dimitri's will
established a medical foundation to be headed by Alexandra in Pine Valley.

At the Pine Valley Inn David ran into Alexandra waiting to have lunch with Jack.
Jack arrived and David went to his own table but watched Alex and Jack closely.
Alexandra asked Jack to find someone else to run Dimitri's foundation. Jack
urged Alexandra to stay in Pine Valley and also asked her to give Edmund a
chance. Edmund told Erica about Dimitri's foundation, and Erica admitted she
might know someone who would be perfect for the directorship position. Later,
Erica told David she had a wonderful new job for him. Scene

Stuart urged Alexandra to stay in Pine Valley and work through her problems with
Edmund. An emotional Alexandra opened up to Stuart and told him why she had
stopped practicing medicine. Alexandra assured Joe that she wanted to give up
the directorship of Dimitri's foundation, and he admitted that he had had an
inquiry about the position. Later, Alexandra warned David that he would never be
named director of the foundation.

Alex told David that she would keep an open mind about his heading Dimitri's
foundation after he made a passionate plea about how he had changed. Alex was
later unsettled when she saw David's name on the report transferring Colby's
stem cells to Dimitri.

Mateo stopped by Wildwind to store Raquel's belongings. Edmund was surprised
that Mateo had decided to honor Hayley's wishes and buy her out of SOS. Mateo
told Edmund he had faith that Hayley would come back to him. Edmund advised
Mateo not to push Hayley too far out of his life. Liza vowed to help Alexandra
figure out how David's name had gotten on Dimitri's medical file.

David asked Edmund to help him secure the job with Dimitri's foundation.
Alexandra walked in on David and Edmund's conversation and once again vowed that
David would never head the foundation. Edmund questioned Alexandra about her
reservations about David and Alexandra said that David had been responsible for
a woman's death. David attempted to explain, but he was cut short by news of
Gillian's accident.

Edmund vowed to find out who had upset Gillian before her car accident as David
privately hid his guilt. Alexandra and David argued over Gillian's treatment.
Edmund opened up to Brooke about the losses in his life and promised to help
Gillian pull through her ordeal. Edmund was later faced with a difficult
decision when both Alexandra and David offered different assessments of
Gillian's condition.

Edmund gave David the go ahead to treat Gillian against Alexandra's wishes.
Erica overhead Alex telling Edmund that Gillian wouldn't want David operating on
her after all David had done to Gillian in the past. Later, Erica questioned

sex with him.

later defended himself to Erica, who remained uncertain of what to believe.

plea on David's behalf. Alexandra was later shocked when Joe supported David to
head the foundation.

Jake and Gillian arrived at SOS. Mateo and Adrian were pleased to see Gillian
out of the hospital. Later, A surprised Gillian learned from Mateo that Hayley
and Ryan were no longer involved. Jake admitted to Gillian that he was in love
with her after they shared a romantic dance. Alex was shocked and angered by
Joe's decision to name David as head of the Andrassy Foundation and vowed to
make Dimitri's dream a reality somewhere other than Pine Valley. Edmund later
questioned Alex about her feelings for David and urged her not to run away.
David was horrified when Alex arrived at his room and announced that they would

Year's Eve. Later, Erica was livid when she learned Alex would be staying in
Pine Valley to run the foundation with David. Scene

Erica excitedly makes plans to completely redecorate David's office, then is
irked to learn that her lover's new co-director, Alex, has veto power over all
her ideas. Joe told David that he would not put up with any problems between
Alex and David. David assured Joe that there was no animosity between them and
he could run the Andrassey foundation with Alex. Erica expressed her
disappointment that David had to be co-director with Alex. Edmund coaxes Alex
out for an afternoon of ice skating. Alex overreacts when Edmund offers to
repair a broken clock at the hunting lodge. As Edmund again presses her to
attend the Crystal Ball, Alex explains that she dislikes New Year's Eve
intensely and won't feel like celebrating anything this year. Later, after
Edmund leaves David stops by to talk about the foundation. Scene

Joe asked Alex about attending the Crystal Ball. Alex continued to grow jumpy
and irritable every time the Crystal Ball is mentioned. Joe was startled at her
initial reaction but when Alex explained it was a sad time without Dimitri Joe
understood. Certain that David's co-director, Alexandra, will cause him nothing
but trouble, Erica reminds David how Dimitri's association with Alex led to his
untimely death. David's gift has a strange effect on Alex.

Alex tells Edmund she accidentally broke the personalized clock David gave her.
Confiding how she's been having a recurring nightmare, Alex shakily admits she
fears something horrible is on the horizon. David assures a skeptical Erica
he'll soon have Alex eating out of the palm of his hand. Jake asks Joe for some
time off from his duties at the hospital. Jake and Joe give a delighted Gillian
her walking papers, then invites her to spend the holiday with him at his folks'
place. While at the hospital Vanessa gleefully hints to Erica that the chemistry
between David and Alex is unmistakable.

28, 1999-
Ryan spots Jake and Gillian arriving for dinner. Jake and Gillian agree to
attend The Crystal Ball together. Later, when Jake makes a phone call Ryan sits
down and tells Gillian he is pleased she has Jake in her life. Gillian tells
Ryan she hopes he finds someone new to take to The Crystal Ball. Rae drops by
the hunting lodge to check on Alex and finds her hyperventilating badly. Though
the doctor claims she's just under stress from her work at the hospital, Rae
senses that Alex's jitters stem from something deeper. David cautions a
skeptical Edmund that Alex seems to be losing her grip and may come unglued
completely before long. Brooke sheepishly admits to Edmund how she's about to
lose an embarrassing bet with Jackson if she can't find a man by New Year's Eve.
Edmund goes to the hunting lodge and talks to Alexandra. As Edmund starts going
into details about the Crystal Ball Alexandra surprises Edmund when she agrees
to attend the ball with him.

Alex and Edmund continued to dance at the ball, but Alex rushed out when David
asked her to dance and Rae was concerned for her. Alex later tried to cover her
nerves in front of Erica, who accused her of being a scorned woman. Erica walked
out on David after accusing him of standing her up earlier in order to take
flowers to Alex. Alex hurried to leave the ball before midnight. David followed
Alex and demanded to know why she was acting so irrationally. David grabbed
Alex, who had a disturbing flashback of an older man and ended up pushing David
down the stairs.
