- Tuesday, February 5, 2002-
In the Caribbean, Anna reacts to David's obvious
and deep feelings for Dixie. Tad assures David that he will return Dixie to her
home, and David asks that Dixie and Tad keep quiet about the serum that saved
her life. David notes the love that Dixie has for Tad, but Dixie refuses to
change her mind about divorcing Tad.
- Thursday, February 7, 2002-
Chris senses that Hayley and Mateo know more than
they have vocalized, and Anna helps Chris confront Ryan about using Mateo to
catch Proteus. Vanessa lies about Larry's departure, but Leo starts to buy it.
However, David does not believe a word of her delusional tirade, and Leo begins
to see a new side of her personality. Later at Greenlee's, Leo resists David's
suggestions that they have Vanessa committed. Greenlee enters and sides with
David, but Leo rips the phone from his hand.
- Monday, February 11, 2002-
Joe shocks Anna when he dismisses David from the
hospital. However, Dixie clears the air and David gets reinstated when she
reveals that David missed his scheduled surgery to save her life in the islands.
David celebrates by kissing Anna, and he hints at strong feelings for her.
- Tuesday, February 12, 2002-
David attempts to prove to Anna that he trusts
her by showing her his Chen Jade research file, but he remains guarded about
Dixie's file. Later, Jake discovers the Chen Jade file in David's office, and
Jake believes that he has found the key to the embezzled hospital money.
Meanwhile, Brooke and Edmund get lost in romance while proofing stories for the
Valentine's edition of Tempo, and Edmund enlists Phoebe's help to create a
Valentine's Day surprise for Brooke.
- Wednesday, February 13, 2002-
David and Anna spend a wonderful night together,
but when David leaves, Anna fears that he has fled to Dixie. Anna anxiously
waits for David to return to the cabin, and Jake surprises Anna when he breaks
in to return the copied Chen Jade file to David's office. Furthermore, Jake
advises Anna to break it off with David before she ends up in jail. Dixie thanks
David for saving her life, and David advises Dixie to terminate her pregnancy
when she reveals that she is with child. Emotional Dixie also confides to David
that she has yet to tell Tad, and she asks David to keep mum until she decides
what course of action to take.
- Thursday, February 14, 2002-
Edmund plans to propose to Brooke, and the
excited children plan a surprise luncheon for her with Phoebe. Jake alleges he
has proof that David used people as guinea pigs for his illegal experiments, but
David reminds Jake that he saved Dixie's life. Jake, recalling
Roger's heart attack, startles a wary David. When Leo leaves
Greenlee to buy a bottle of champagne for future romance, Greenlee
calls David and alerts him to Vanessa's release from jail, and David
remembers the directions he gave Vanessa to artificially induce
arrhythmia.
- Friday, February 15, 2002-
Edmund sweeps Brooke up into his arms on the
beach, and he asks her to marry him as he slips an engagement ring on her
finger. Tearful Brooke happily accepts his proposal, and they leave arm in arm
for the house to celebrate with Phoebe and the children.
- Wednesday, February 20, 2002-
Anna, unable to calm David's anger when he learns
of the Martin's board inquiry, begins to feel frozen out of his life. Dixie,
refusing an abortion, begs David to help her. He gives her the name of a Zurich
clinic and vows secrecy. Anna views their parting embrace with jealousy. Joe
agrees to help Chris investigate the "heart attacks," and all of
David's patients.
- Thursday, February 21, 2002-
Anna explodes at David for panting after Dixie,
but he apologizes and says she is always there for him.
- Friday, February 22, 2002- Anna tells David what she overheard about his
patient files and he leaves.
- Monday, February 25, 2002-
Vanessa's true colors shine even more
brightly when she blackmails David after he confronts her. Meanwhile, scheming
Anna picks up David's patient files, and Vanessa disappears, leaving only a
syringe on the floor.
- Tuesday, February 26, 2002-
David checks Chris' vitals and learns the severity of the situation,
and David barks out orders to take Chris to surgery. Joe doesn't
want David to do the surgery, but precious
time prevents the hospital from waiting for another surgeon. Anna has the syringe from Vanessa's room tested, and the Feds
report that the syringe contained a drug to induce heart attacks and that the
prints found on the evidence belong to Vanessa.
- Wednesday, February 27, 2002-
Anna presents her evidence implicating Vanessa as the mastermind behind
"Proteus", but David refuses to believe that his mother has enough
intelligence to pull off such a complex program of deception. Bianca heightens
the intrigue when she offers that the earring Anna found belongs to Maggie. Maggie does her best to play along with Vanessa's increasingly odd
behavior, and Vanessa decides to make David take the fall for Proteus. Simone
tenders her resignation for setting Ryan up, but Edmund refuses to accept it.
Brooke assures Simone about Edmund's shining character, and eavesdropping Edmund
asks Brooke for an expedited wedding afterward.
- Thursday, February 28, 2002-
Chris bitterly rejects Ryan's offer of help, and Chris determines to make
David pay for purposely botching his operation by nailing David as the man
behind "Proteus". David unsuccessfully tries to contact
Vanessa, and David vows to kill Vanessa if he ever finds her. Later, David
learns that someone has triggered the alarm system at his cabin. Vanessa eventually
journeys to David's cabin where she puts Proteus files on his computer.
